                                         GREAT RESPONSIBILITY: “SEEKING THE LOST”

Book of Ezekiel 34 : 1 – 10 and 11.

What is the Responsibility of the shepherd???

a) Providing food and feeding. b) Giving safe place to live. c) Caring them d) Gathering them e) Seek for the lost sheep f) Responsibility of ownership.

Isaiah 56: 9-12, Jermiah 21-13, 1 Samuel 2: 29-30, Jermiah 23: 1-5

Our responsibility

1] Search and seek the lost sheep {Ezekial 34:11} : Jesus clearly stated, that we need to seek the lost one, who need restore in Jesus Christ. Being a church leaders it is our ultimate duty to seek the lost from the path of Godliness. Seek like some of your family member goes missing. 

2] Feed them in good pasture {v 14} : Simply feeding is not the duty of shepherd, but to maintain hygenic place for sheep that they no longer be prey of diseases. A leader should educate its fellow members to maintain spiritual hygenic food and places.

3] Seek what was lost and bring them back what was driven away { v 16} : A shepherds, while found the lost sheep need to check the body that whether its received any wound or not or any illness. Likewise a church leaders basic duty is to check what was driven away while the person was lost from God, need to restore all its belongs. If the person lost through some wrong deeds, then its leaders duty to find out the through holy scripture.

4] Protect them that they will not become prey { v 22 } : A shepherd need to keep his sheep in such a way that wild animals cannot attack them or harm them. As the world’s is moving towards wild nature, and seeking their personal benefits through the harms of there fellow victims. A church leaders should be prepare to tackle any situation to protect there members in God’s hand.

5] Establish a shepherd { v 23 } : While a shepherd goes for retirement or in leave then the shepherd must shift its responsibility to trustworthy shepherd who will care his sheep in the same manner as he did. A church leader must appoint a trustworthy leaders to look after there members in the same way the leader has did it. Lack of proper selection of leaders can proof it to destruction of churches.

6] Make covenant of peace { v 25 } : A shepherd must make a covenant of peace to handle its flock in peaceful manner. A church leaders should maintain peace among the church members rather seeking the division of churches through ungodly manner.

7] Sowers of blessing { v 26 } : As a shepherd its important role is to know the responsibility of ownership, hence the person need to bless it for its multiplication. A church leaders is abound to multiple its church through church planting and need to bless it to flourish in multiple ministires among the region.

8] Everlasting with abundence lacking nothing { v 29 } : A shepherds ultimate vision should be for everlasting service to its flock. A church leaders always need to think for its everlasting blessing to its fellow members.

9] Make God’s people or God’s flock  { v 31 } : A shepherds are accountable to God for its service for the flocks. God is going to ask each and every shepherds how they handle their flocks and what bnefits they are getting for it. Hence, a church leaders need to handover all its task in God’s hand during final judgment. A church leaders should always look on to cross and realize that Jesus Christ is the good shepherd and in His hand all his flock are safe and sound.

Conclusion: Take God’s responsibility very seriously. Every leaders have to give accounts of what they did with there responsibility. Do good work, your fruit will be ultimately wonderful.
